Message from Human Rights Now Human Rights Situation in Myanmar has been changing day by day since Daw Aung San Suu Kyi was released in 2010.

However, there are still grave concern over the human rights situation in Myanmar, especially ethnic minority area. The increasing foreign investment as well as official development assistance are providing another cause of human rights abuse in the country. In response to such situation, Human Rights Now, a Tokyo based international human rights NGO starts in depth monthly research of current situation and remaining new human rights problem in Myanmar and provide update through this website in timely manner. It is crucial that international community to facilitate human rights and real democracy on the ground in Myanmar without causing harm to the most marginalized people in the country. Human Rights Now hopes this update will realize proper understanding of current situation among international actors and help them to discharge their due diligence obligations to promote and protect human rights.
